Payday means an assault on Ebay. Three books were procured yesterday and amazingly one has already arrived. Even without the recent postal strikes that would be pretty good going! Anyway Royal Navy Frigates Since 1945 is book #87.

War Room 3.0

A further update to the War Room. The old PowerMac 7200 has been retired as i don't need it for scanning anymore. This releases a lot of desk space. I have moved my most recent bookcase there as a dedicated bookcase for history study texts and books on paganism. To replace this bookcase i have bought another one, a bit bigger this time and i should now have enough space to last me well into the future. Or to the end of 2010 at least.

Edmond Leung - love & peace EP

CD #58 is by Edmond and really is the business, superb especially on track #2. It is also in a typically quite odd cantopop packaging though its still openable fairly easily. Which is nice.

Fon Tanasoontorn - ruk nee mai mee luem

Fon's latest is CD #57. I like Fon but she seems a bit of a diva and apparently my baseless impression is true according to my contacts.

Irene Au - a song for you

Irene seems to have been around for a long time but its the first time i've really heard of her. Very "Chinesey" pop music which is oddly old fashioned yet with cutting edge production. I'm not sure i like it yet but i think i will and it is CD #56.

Birthday books!

Its my birthday on Thursday and my Mum bought me a few books, 2 count as part of the military collection. So book #85 is Britain's Secret War. The second book is on the resistance theme, i wrote my major assignment for my current course on this subject, this book would probably have been useful but its too late for that now, anyway book #86 is The Unfree French: Life Under the Occupation.

Book #84 is a Jane's Pocket Guide. Got quite a few of these nowadays. And this one is Jane's Major Warships.

The Beatles - Revolver & Abbey Road

The Beatles albums were remastered and re-issued a month or so ago. I thus finally bought Revolver and Abbey Road. Revolver is brilliant, Abbey Road is a bit patchy but still has some very good songs on it. Maybe the White Album next? Anyway these are CDs #53 and 54 for the year.

Something new

New book of the month and #83 overall. Russian Battleship vs Japanese Battleship is in the Osprey Duel series and is very nice indeed. Ironclad warfare is always very interesting.

A special book

Years ago i have volume 3 of the Fighters of WW1 series by JM Bruce. Then i lost the book somehow but last year procured it again on Ebay. And now i have volume 1 too. Its a special series because of the sheer indepth nature of the information held within. Anyway book #82 for the year is on Fighters : AD Scout to Port Victoria Kitten. That title gives you a clue, ultra obscure warplanes = coolness.

Off and running into October

Two of the books planned for October arrived early thus bolstering the September total, no matter, here is the first book for October anyway : Anti-Armour Warfare which is the third in the Ian Allan Combat Roles series. And is book #81 for the year.

September 09 book report

September was a much better month for new books with a massive 10 procured. 7 were Ebay sourced and 3 were new. Naval and Air tied for best category with 3 each with Land and Modern History having 2 each.
