Battles of World War II

Osprey have begun a new fortnightly series available at newsagents which are basically hardcover versions of the WW2 editions in it's Campaign series. I thought why not pick up Poland 1939 for 1.99 British pounds?! I don't know if i'll get any more. Anyway it is book #70.

Charmaine Fong - unlock me

The first album of Charmaine's i have got, its very good. Modern cantopop with a dancey edge. All the song titles are in English too which is nice, though i can read enough Chinese to translate most song titles anyway. CD #47.

Janice Vidal - morning

Janice is back! CD #46 is her first English language album and very good it is too. There was a canto-pop album she released earlier in the year which i missed but it seems hard to get hold of for some reason.

Nile - legacy of the catacombs

CD #45 is a bit different, the first death metal album i've bought for a few years. I got it mostly because of the song Sarcophagus which is wonderful, and the video ain't bad either!

New Thai CD cycle, CD #42 is by the Thai county hippie chick Anda.

For numbers

Book #69 can be considered to be "for numbers" which is Book Baronese for a book that is not that valuable but is OK for boosting numbers. Actually Tanks and other tracked vehicles in service is an OK book, its a Blandford and thus is nicely presented. Just it probably has little that has not already been covered in the collection. But you can't expect all books to be on 1950s RAF Ambulance Auxiliary Crews can you?

3 new books

Three new books were procured at the weekend, 2 from Ebay and 1 new. All 3 were Air Warfare too. The new book first and this is the wonderful British Airships 1905-30, i love books on airships and zeppelins. Interesting enough British airships of WW1 did pretty well unlike their much more famous German counterparts.

The Ebay books were the MCA of the month, this month on the BAE Hawk and a Small Salamander, the later edition (from 1987) of Modern Fighters & Attack Aircraft which includes such "brand new" aircraft as the Rafael, Gripen (artist impression only) and Eurofighter! Books #66 to 68.

July 09 Book Report

July 09 marks the end of the great effort to achieve 300 books in 3 years. Only 4 books were procured in the month and a more sustainable policy is now being pursued. All 4 books were from Ebay, 2 Naval, and 1 each for Land and Air.
