CD #37 continues my gradual progression through the Led Zep back catalogue. You'd never get away with having naked prepubescent children on your album cover these days but Led Zep were rock and roll.

Depeche Mode - remixes 81-04

CD #36 is the Mode again, a remixes CD. Some of the remixes are inspired and some are ...well... shit to be honest but overall the great outnumbers the geek by a margin.

Super 8s

Today was the 2009 International Book Baron Conference, and amid the festivities and talking of shop i ended up 8 books richer! 5 were from my colleague the kind Mr V and 3 bought myself. This shoots me up to 61 for the year.

Joey Yung - a time for us

CD #35 is the last of the current cycle of cantopop, the return of cantopop to my heart and the return of Joey Yung, my favourite cantopop female artist, to my ..er.. ears. Good album actually, its her 10th year in the business. Cool.

Leon Lai - its me

Leon is a King amongst men, literally a king of pop. My favourite artist of all time and this is his latest EP to date and of course it is great! CD #34.

Lets start the return of cantopop with a nice big compilation. 48 songs should do nicely to get me back in the scene. 3 CDs and 1 DVD however i just count this as CD #33 of course. Kay Tse's 3/8 immediately jumps out, good song indeed.

Cantopop returns!

It has been well over a year since the last one but i received 3 cantopop CDs this morning, including the latest from my favourite singer Leon Lai! Cantopop was my main genre for a long time but i became a bit bored with it and finally stopped listening to it. But now i feel the desire again.



I used to have a cantopop blog but got rid of it last year, then regretted it. So i have restarted it (though in a pre-launch building up phase at the moment), luckily thanks to the Internet Wayback Machine some of the content was recoverable though the blog's format is a bit different this time.

Last of the current Thai cycle CD #32 is by the tough singer Luang Kai. Good singer you know? Well you should!

A-Zeer - self-titled

CD #31 is the debut by a Thai country rock duo. Actually i think Zeer released solo album before which had a very good song on it i saw once on a music TV channel though i was unable to get the CD. It might be another Zeer though. But there can't be that many Zeers around can there, its not like she is called Bob.

Morgan - modify

CD #30 is the second album by Morgan, a cool Thai country rock band. They have dreadlocks and also add a reggae beat now and then. Excellent stuff.

First of the current Thai cycle but i also have some cantopop on the way, the first procurements of that genre for over a year.

June 2

Two more books arrived yesterday, Northrop F-5/F-20 is an Ian Allan Modern Combat Aircraft book, as i said before i am aiming to get 1 per month for the forseeable future. The other is another Jane's though this one is a small one and very nice too, its Jane's Warsaw Pact Warships Handbook and is book 53.

Sinéad Mulvey & Black Daisy - et cetera (single)

CD #29 is another iTunes album (well 3 tracks anyway) download (the future eh?) Sinead's ill-fated Eurovision song, failed miserably but i thought it was fantastic!

Zeljko Joksimovic - platinum collection

CD #28 is by Zeljko Joksimovic, its an iTunes procurement but a full album download. Burned it to a CD et cetera. Utter excellence. First album bought for some time though i have some winging their way to me from Thailand.

Big start to the month

1st of June and what a start to the month with 4 new books. Books #48 and 49 are Ian Allans in Missiles Of The World (1st edition) and Great Battle Tanks.

But then things get extreme. Book #50 is my second Combat Fleets, many years ago i spied the 1986 one in WH Smiths for 5 quid or something ridiculous. Now i have the 1976 one, Combat Fleets Of The World 1976/77 to be exact. Finally the first big Janes of the year, book #51 is Jane's Military Training Systems 1990-91.

May 09 book report

A quieter month with just 7 books procured. Slightly behind schedule now if i am to reach my target but i am a bit jaded Book Baron wise anyway so i'm not sure i care! 5 books were Ebay procurements and 2 were new. Naval had 3, Air 2 and Land and Modern History 1 each.
